Dr Michael Siering is a project manager in the field of capital markets at DZ BANK. As associated researcher, he collaborates with the chair of e-finance in course of different research projects on the digitalization of the financial services industry as well as financial market surveillance. Furthermore, Dr Siering gives lectures on decision support systems and data science.

His research at the intersection of financial services and information systems has been published in leading outlets such as Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS), Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS), Information Systems Journal (ISJ), Journal of Information Technology (JIT) and Decision Support Systems (DSS) and has been presented at leading international conferences. His research was honored with the JAIS best paper award as well as the most prestigious award in information systems research, the AIS best information systems publications award. He regularly acts as a reviewer for leading journals and serves as an associate editor for DSS.

Michael Siering holds certifications in traditional and agile project management methods, enterprise architecture and service management. During different projects, Michael Siering collaborated with financial market participants such as Börse Stuttgart, Factset Digital Solutions and b-next. Furthermore, he gained practical experience at Helvetia insurances, as a manager in the field of digitalization and risk management at the consultancy company d-fine and, currently, as a project manager in the field of capital markets at DZ BANK, the second largest German banking group.

Dr Siering worked as a research assistant at the chair of e-Finance from 2010 to 2015 and was a visiting scholar at Pennsylvania State University. In 2014, he successfully completed his doctoral studies.
